Tent City is a warm and cozy, yummy chunk of fun, according to its MySpace page. The Flagpole calls the band, “a new local jam band that mixes elements of world and blues into the traditional jam format for interesting and enveloping songs.
Made up of Greg Kearney, (guitar), Greg Cooler, (bass guitar), Scott “Boss” Hogg, (keyboards and vocals), and Scott Underwood, (drums), Tent City mixes a contemporary blend of unique originals along with eclectic rearrangements of deep cut classics.
Influences include The Allman Brothers, Phish and Led Zeppelin. Band members played a Georgia Theatre benefit concert in July with Free Lunch. Tent City recently played on St. Simons Island and in Statesboro. The band performed for AthFest 2009 in The Green Room.
Tent City will perform 9:20 p.m. Saturday on the outdoor stage.
