Soulhound
Soulhound is an Atlanta-based funk/soul band, zesty groovesters and purveyors of heart-pounding funk, soul and sweaty grooves, Soulhound has been described as part James Brown funk, part Stevie Wonder soul, with the lyrical voice of Robert Bradley, all thrown in with some groovin’ bass lines and powerful guitars.
Clearly the members of Soulhound are inspired disciples of the guitar-driven R&B, greasy Funk, jazzy Boogaloo and Soul of the late sixties and seventies. Their influences range from the Meters, Tower of Power and Parliament/Funkadelic to Miles Davis, Medeski Martin and Wood and Steely Dan. Members include Rob Roth (guitar and vocals), Oliver Nichols (vocals), Byron Fullmer (drums), Ray “The Pocket” Bivens (bass and vocals) and Sasha Swetlowski (keyboards and harmonica).
Soulhound will play 7 p.m. Saturday on the outdoor stage.
